Gilly and Sebastian presented the Playful Commons approach in a workshop on design, regulatory, and social impact issues of urban play hosted by Jussi Holopainen of RMIT Europe in Barcelona.

In the context of emerging smart cities, the questions posed by Playful Commons become more urgent: how can digital technologies help communicate and negotiate rules in a space? Where do we trust users to follow rules and where are rules enforced digitally?
